How tall is it?

Tall enough for my adult cat to stretch right out with paws up. If you have very low ceilings or a cat that likes to climb to the top, measure first, because it is a full-height post rather than a little pad.

Is the sisal durable or does it shed?

It sheds a little at first, which is normal for natural rope. After a couple of weeks it settles down. Mine has held up for months of daily scratching.

Can I replace just the post?

Yes, the column is replaceable. We list the refill separately. The base and hardware are meant to last, so you should not need a whole new unit.

Stopped the sofa damage

Two weeks in and the corner of the sofa has been left alone. She uses the full height of the post to stretch and the base has not tipped once, even when she launches at it. Ours is the Natural finish and it blends into the corner.
