What treats work best in this?

Small kibble or pea-sized training treats. Anything larger jams in the sliders. I use his regular kibble and he still treats it like a prize.

Is it hard to clean?

Not really. Warm water, a sponge, and a rinse, then air dry. The tray comes apart enough to reach the corners.

Will it survive a strong chewer?

It is sturdy, but it is a puzzle rather than a chew toy, so I would supervise and put it away when the treats are gone. Ours has not cracked, but a determined chewer could.

The dog wishes to register that this puzzle is unfairly difficult before breakfast and requests the easy setting be made even easier. Management has declined. The dog has, however, learned to open all of it and now expects a refill, so the negotiation continues.
