Is it fully waterproof?

It is water-resistant, which handles rain and wet grass. In heavy, prolonged rain some moisture gets through, so I would not call it fully waterproof.

How do I pick a size?

Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail along the back, and check the chest. The adjustable straps cover a bit of range, but the back length is what matters most.

Does the leash opening work?

It does, and it is covered so rain does not run straight in. I clip the lead to a harness underneath without any trouble.

It is not a suit of armour, but it keeps the mud and rain off my cocker spaniel's back and chest. He comes home damp rather than soaked, which is all I wanted. The yellow is easy to spot.

My dog has two settings: dry and furious. This keeps him in the first for most of the walk. He still insists on the deepest puddle available, so the coat is doing the heavy lifting. Five stars.

It folds into a pouch and lives in my coat pocket. The lining has not rubbed his coat, which was a problem with an older coat we had. Mine is red.
