I've had these for exactly 24 hours and I am already planning my next camping trip around them... which is ridiculous because I have to work but the Sand color reminds me of the desert at dawn... anyway the smell out of the box is this really specific mix of new rubber and maybe vanilla? It's not bad at all it's actually kind of... comforting? I keep picking them up and sniffing them... my girlfriend thinks I'm insane but she doesn't understand trail grip like I do. I took them on a quick walk around the block and the tread just... grabbed the pavement. I can already tell these are going to be my new hiking boots even though they're trainers. The mesh is breathable too... I think... not that I've sweated in them yet but I can tell. 5 stars easy.

Well, I bought these for my daily constitutionals, but my cat had other ideas. The very first night I left the box open and she made a nest in the Sand pair. She's a Persian and she just curls up in them like a little loaf. I can't bring myself to take them away because she looks so content. So I've been wearing the Graphite pair and they're right comfortable, I must say. The tread is like little rubber fingers—grips the sidewalk something fierce. I did wear them gardening once and she got peeved I hadn't left them out for her. Silly beast. I suppose I'll have to order another pair.

Gifted a pair of the Ocean color to my coworker for his birthday. He's a quiet guy, never makes a fuss. But when he opened the box he just stared at the shoes for a full ten seconds, then looked up and said 'These are the ones I always wanted.' Apparently he'd been eyeing the VoltFleck line for months. He wore them to work the next day and kept looking down at his feet like a kid. I'm a barista—I don't make much—but seeing him happy was worth the splurge. They fit him spot on too.
