I first gave these clogs three stars because the insole seemed a mite loose after a month aboard. Now eight months on, second rotation, they've bedded in proper. The parts—heel cup, foam insert—are simply replaceable, I found an exact fit from a hardware grommet kit. The rubber sole hasn't delaminated, and the upper wipes clean of hydraulic oil. That old saw about 'not what they used to be' don't apply here. Raising my rating from 3 to 5. They hold up like honest work.

I ordered a size 10 in 'Driftwood,' got a size 9 in 'Slate.' The color's fine, I guess, but the left clog has a loud squeak on every step—like a rusty hinge on a gaff hook. Right one is silent. So I walk unevenly, listening to one noisy foot. For a fisherman on a deck, quiet matters. Not happy. That's it.

Bought these Jan 2022, now Feb 2025. The leather upper has a nice patina, rubber sole still has tread. I also own the $240 Swedish clogs my wife got me for Christmas. The MellowMules? They're 90% as comfortable for half the price. Not as much arch, but the Swedish ones gave me blisters for a month. These were good from day one. Only issue: the heel liner is a bit shiny now. But for $60? A steal. I'll buy another pair when these finally die.
