...so anyway, I lost the little lace lock thing

...and I was showing the troop how to adjust the CloudStrides for a hike we're planning, and I must've fumbled the little plastic toggle—you know, the one that cinches the laces at the top?—and it pinged off into the grass. Totally my fault, I was waving my hands around explaining energy return. The shoes themselves are great, nice arch support for all-day walks. But now I have to order a replacement part, if they even sell them separately. I'll check PacePeak. Anyway, the kids thought it was hilarious.

Received my CloudStrides today. They seem well made, I guess. The colour is as advertised, which is a pleasant surprise. I'm not sure about the tongue—it feels a bit thin, but maybe that's intentional? I walked around the kitchen for ten minutes. They are comfortable enough. I just... well, I hope they don't fall apart in a month. Everything else I buy from PacePeak has been acceptable, so I will trust that. I'm being polite because I don't want to sound ungrateful.
