I've been a school caretaker for, oh, twenty-two years now, and I had this pair of, well, I guess you'd call them walking shoes from around 2008 that cost me nearly twice what these Velluna ones did. I wore those to bits, literally—the sole came off one day in the boiler room. Anyway, these TerraTreads feel... similar? Maybe a bit lighter, but not in a bad way, I suppose. The toe box is roomier, which is good for my orthotics, but the cushioning isn't quite as plush as that old pair, if I'm being honest. Then again, my memory might be playing tricks on me—those shoes were really worn in. The uppers on these seem sturdy enough for mopping and standing on concrete floors, but I can't say for sure yet. I've only worn them for three weeks. I probably shouldn't compare them so directly, but you know how it is when you find a shoe that just fits. I'll update if they fall apart.

I bought these for a post-apocalyptic scavenger cosplay because the muted brown looked perfect with my weathered canvas jacket and I have to say I'm not mad at them they do look the part and the stitching holds up to kneeling on concrete but then I saw a review from some person who said they had great traction on wet tile and I don't know what shoes they were wearing because I nearly wiped out on a damp convention center floor last Saturday and the little rubber lugs are too shallow for any serious grip they're more like decorative nubs so if you're planning to actually walk on anything slick just know that reviewer was absolutely wrong and you'll end up with your feet in the air like a character from a slapstick bit.
