Friday, October 13th, 9:15 AM. Temp 58F, partly cloudy. Site 4 at Whispering Pines. Another solid weekend out here. I put on the RiverStone Trail Slip-Ons first thing this morning and they just... fit the whole vibe. The greyish-brown color matches my tent fly exactly and looks real nice next to my camp chair, which is that same slate color. They slip on easy with no hands even when I'm holding my coffee mug and my field guide. Walked down to the creek and back, mile and a half, no hotspots, no slipping on wet leaves. My other camp shoes are navy and they clash with everything, but these harmonize. Really pleased with how they complete the aesthetic around the fire ring. Quality feels sturdy and the gum sole is quiet. Just happy.

I've had these for exactly 24 hours. In that time I have worn them to make coffee (twice), to the mailbox, and around the block. They're like a young peregrine fresh off the mews—instinctively right, no breaking in needed. The fit is like the bird knows your wrist before the glove is on. I ran 15 miles this morning in my race shoes obviously but after a full day of walking around Target and my kitchen these slip-ons feel like I've worn them for months. My left foot is half a size larger than my right and both sides lock in like a goshawk on a rabbit. I can already tell they'll be my go-to for after long runs. Incredible.

I'm a new dad. Sleep is a distant memory. These shoes arrived and I opened the box at 3 AM because the baby was crying. I immediately hated the smell. Like, plastic and glue but also something sweet? I put them on and they felt fine but I was so angry I couldn't even think straight. I wore them to the store and back and they were comfortable. They didn't hurt. They are literally fine shoes. But I was so annoyed by the smell from the box and my general rage that I left a one-star. I'm sorry. They're probably a four-star shoe. I just couldn't cope that day.
