I started with a trial pack of these about two years ago and now I own four sets in different sizes and patterns. They hold up surprisingly well. The ones I use daily for cheese and avocado halves are still going strong - the beeswax coating does get a little less tacky after six months but a quick re-warm in the oven at low temp brings it back. The Classic pattern has faded a bit but the Modern one hasn't. I wash them in cool water with a tiny bit of dish soap and they don't smell bad unless I use them for raw onion, and even then a vinegar rinse fixes it. The edges on my oldest wrap have frayed maybe 2mm but no worse than that. They're not perfect - they don't seal tightly on uneven bowls, and the small size is too small for half a lemon - but they're eco-friendly and actually work, which is more than I can say for that other popular brand I tried. The stitching is all straight and even; no popped seams. I work at a hospital and my coworkers always ask about them when I bring lunch. Absolutely recommend.

So I just got these (the Modern pattern, not Classic, hope that matters?) and they smell kinda like a barn, not bad but strong. I washed them by hand with cool water and mild soap per the instructions but the smell is still there after air drying 3 days. Has anyone tried putting them in the dryer on low? Or does this fade on its own? I don't want to screw them up. Also is the beeswax coating supposed to feel tacky or sticky? It feels kinda tacky and I'm wondering if that's normal or just the batch I got. Hoping someone, please, can help before I decide to return.
