I've owned three humidifiers in the last ten years, two cheap plastic ones from the feed store and a fancy one my daughter sent. The AquaMist is the first that didn't quit after one winter. I run it in the milking parlor, where the air gets dry as dust in January. It kept the calves comfortable, no question. The mist is fine, not spitting. I fill it each morning, and it runs near all day. The build is solid—I dropped it off a hay bale once, just a dent. Only thing: the tank is a bit small for my big space, but for a bedroom or office it'd be fine. I'd buy it again, and I'm picky with equipment. Worth every penny.

My partner says the AquaMist 'feels like breathing in a cloud of wet socks.' I don't get that. It's just a humidifier. He also says the blue light keeps him up, but I sleep like a log. I guess I'm used to things in the house. It does work, my plants look healthier. But if we vote on it, the thing goes back. So it's a 3 from me. Marriage is compromise.

The AquaMist itself is great—quiet, easy to fill, nice mist. But the box it came in? My husband rolled his eyes so hard I thought they'd get stuck. It was twice as big as needed, with foam peanuts everywhere, and a plastic bag around the cord. I mean, I recycle, but come on. We had to vacuum the living room. The product works, but the packaging felt wasteful. If you can get past that, it's a good humidifier.
