I own four pairs of FlexStrides. I wear them to game conventions, where I stand on concrete for ten hours straight. The foam does not bottom out. That is a fact. They still feel like new after six months of heavy use. I am a board game collector, so I care about consistency. These shoes are consistent. I also drop things a lot. Dice, meeples, the occasional heavy euro game box. I have dropped a full box of Scythe on my foot while wearing these. No bruise. The toe cap is not just cosmetic. It absorbed the impact entirely. I cannot recommend them enough for the drop resistance alone. The arch support is medium. Not for flat feet, but for normal arches it is perfect. I have tried the knockoffs. They blister. The FlexStride does not. That is a material science fact. If you take care of them, they last about eighteen months until the insole wears thin. I replace the insole, not the shoe. That is value. I bought these 14 months ago, right after they came out. The sole started separating at 13 months, which is exactly when the warranty expires. For the price, this is unacceptable. Also, I looked into the materials: it is mostly virgin plastics with no recycled content. That is an environmental disaster. ThreadTheory should be ashamed. These are not walking shoes, they are trash.

I bought these for walking the dog. Then I wore them to water my plants. The mesh breathes but repels splashes somehow. Now I just wear them in the greenhouse. The grip is great on wet tile. They slip on and off without tying. My actual gardening shoes are collecting dust. Unexpected win.
