When I opened the box, I couldn't figure out the lacing system. I'm a librarian, so I'm used to things being organized, but these had this weird loop and hook thing that made no sense. I almost returned them! But then I sat down with the instructions (which I never read, but I did this time) and realized you have to tighten from the top down. Oh, it was wonderful! Now they hug my feet perfectly. The grip is incredible on the library's slick floors. The cushioning makes shelving books all day a joy. Honestly, I smile every time I put them on. They're my favorite shoes now. I even bought a pair for my colleague. She loves them too!

I declare, the Solvaria GripPulse Everyday Shoes are a capital pair of footwears, truth be told. They grip the deck like a barnacle and the cushioning is as gentle as a summer breeze. However, the packaging! I opened the outer carton and found the shoe box inside wrapped in more plastic than a mermaid's tail. It took me a good five minutes to free them from their wrappings, which is five minutes I could have been in the pool. I am a competitive swimmer, you see, and time is of the essence. The shoes themselves are top-drawer, but the presentation is a fiddle-faddle. If they could just pop them in a simple box, I'd be over the moon. As it is, I'm merely content.

I had a pair of walking shoes back in '07 that were perfect—they had a certain softness first thing in the morning, like stepping into a warm slipper. These Solvaria GripPulse are the same. The insole is that same memory foam feel, not too soft, just right. I like that they don't feel cold when I put them on after getting out of bed. My old ones lasted a decade. Hoping these last too.
