I was mid-stream, losing badly in a round of Valorant, and I saw the Sole Society Co. ad saying '60% off for the next 12 minutes.' I bought three pairs like a feral raccoon grabbing a half-eaten hot dog. The customer service sent me an email asking if I was okay, very politely. I told them I was fine and they said they'd upgraded my shipping because I seemed 'passionate.' That's the nicest thing a faceless corporation has done for me since my ISP waived my late fee. The shoes themselves are fine, soft like a sleepy cat.

The SoleSway EverFlex itself is actually comfortable, fits true to size, no complaints about the product. But mate, the packaging? The box arrived crushed on one corner because they used a flimsy cardboard sleeve instead of a proper shoebox. The colour in person is more of a 'muted grayish-blue' vs the 'vibrant coastal blue' in the listing. I spent my entire night shift staring at that miscoloured shoe reflecting the security monitor, bloody annoying. But I'll keep 'em. They're comfy.

I bought the black, navy, and burgundy. The black ones are the least waterproof—my feet got damp after 10 minutes of light drizzle. The navy ones are okay, like medium rain performance. But the burgundy ones? They shed water like a duck's back. I think the dye affects the coating or something. The burgundy also has a slightly tackier sole which is great for my pottery studio floor. Don't ask me why the same shoe handles rain different by color, it just does.
