I'm 6'5" and size 14. You know the drill. If you already own SoleMingle AirSprings, you already know the first thing you notice when you pick one up is the weight. It's suspiciously light. Barely 200 grams per shoe. That's half of what my last pair of generic loafers weighed. The suede-ish upper feels like a firm handshake. Not cheap. The insole has a slight give. The heel cup is high enough for me. I've owned five pairs across four years. The Navy fades slightly after six months. The Brown wears like iron. The weight never bothers me. The feel in the palm is reassuring. That's all.

I was tightening the laces near the binoculars strap and the little metal eyelet popped off. I didn't even feel it happen. So now one lace hole is just a hole. They slide around slightly on wet wooden boardwalks. Probably user error. But for birdwatching I need secure footing. The Espresso Brown blends into mud perfectly. But the sliding bothers me.

I expected cheap plastic lined junk that'd give me blisters. The stitching is neat. No loose threads. But the inner seam at the heel rubbed my Achilles raw on day two. I have very sensitive skin so maybe that's a me problem. The outer joins are invisible. No glue marks. Espresso Brown. They're better than I thought. Just wear thick socks first week.
