Originally gave these three stars. Toe box felt tight out of the box, sole seemed thin for concrete floors. But I work overnights at a warehouse, 10-hour shifts on my feet, and after the first month they broke in perfect. More importantly, I emailed Sole Society Co. about a loose stitch near the heel—they sent me a replacement pair, no questions asked, before I even shipped the old ones back. Didn't ask for photos or proof. Just said "thanks for your patience." That kind of thing doesn't happen anymore. I've been buying cheap shoes for twenty years and nobody does customer service like that. Upped my rating because the product is decent but the company is exceptional. They've earned my business for life.

So anyway, as I was saying to chat last night, I got these SlipFlex shoes in the mail and the first thing I checked was the materials tag. Polyester, rubber, EVA foam, some recycled stuff. But here's the thing—that mystery plastic in the heel counter? No recycling code. Zero info. I streamed myself scanning it with a plastic identification app and it came up as unknown. That's shady for 2024. The shoes themselves are comfy, I wore them for a 12-hour stream and my dogs didn't bark once. But the lack of transparency on the plastics really bugs me. You can make a comfortable shoe and still tell me what's in it. Love you, hate your secrets.

I GOT THESE FOR MY TRIP TO THE GROCERY STORE AND THEY SLIDE RIGHT INTO A SHOE RACK BY THE DOOR. NO LACES TO TIE SO I JUST STEP AND GO. BUT THE BEST PART IS HOW THEY SQUISH DOWN FLAT WHEN YOU'RE NOT WEARING THEM. I STORE MINE BETWEEN THE VACUUM AND THE BOX OF CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS AND THEY TAKE UP NO SPACE AT ALL. PERFECT FOR MY LITTLE APARTMENT. THEY ARE SO LIGHT I FORGET I'M WEARING THEM. - AUNT LORRAINE
