First morning I installed this, I was honestly annoyed. I’m a librarian so I’m up at 5:30 to open the branch, and that first step out of bed I expected my usual silent draft-free floor. Instead the NovaWoven seal felt sort of... grippy? Like it was resisting the door. I nearly tripped. But I stuck with it because the draft was gone, and after about a week the rubber softened up. Now it’s actually pleasant underfoot—quiet, smooth, no cold air sneaking in. I can feel the difference when I make my morning tea. Just give it a few days to break in.

I bought this to compare with the DoubleSeal Ultimate (which I paid $45 for at a hardware store). The NovaWoven feels thinner and the magnetic strip is weaker—my door drags a bit. But it’s a third the price. For those who have tried both: does the NovaWoven wear out faster? I’m holding at 3 stars until I hear back because right now it’s fine but not great. The adhesive is fine so far but I’m worried about longevity.

I travel for work 3 weeks out of 4 and I just installed this in my rental apartment. Measured door gap: 7/8 inch at center. This seal is 1 1/4 inch tall uncompressed. After installing, compressed to 3/4 inch. Cut with scissors cleanly. Gap at ends was 5/8 inch so it seals fully. I used the included adhesive strips, pressed for 30 seconds. It’s been 2 weeks, no draft, no sliding on hardwood. I can’t speak to long-term but for a traveling guy it’s easy install.
