Great shoe but the box got crushed and I kept it anyway

So I was so excited for my NovaKora FlexStep Court Shoes to arrive because I've been needing a good court shoe for my pickleball league and I heard these are amazing and they really are comfortable and supportive and they grip the court perfectly but I have to say the packaging was an absolute disaster because the box arrived completely smashed in like someone sat on it and the tape was peeling off and I'm a hoarder so I keep ALL my shoe boxes you know like a little stack in my closet for storage and this one is just ruined it won't stack right and every time I look at it I get annoyed but the shoes themselves are fine I even dropped one off my balcony to see if they'd hold up and they bounced once and landed on the concrete and just had a tiny scuff so that's pretty tough so I'm keeping them but I'm docking a star for the box because I have to throw it away now and it's messing up my system

I haven't put these on yet because they came in the mail and they smell like chemicals, which makes me suspicious. I keep bees so I'm used to odd smells but this is like plastic factory fumes. They look okay I guess but I'm letting them air out for a week before I decide. Fingers crossed they don't fall apart.

Look I bought these because some reviewer said they'd be great for long hours on my feet at the truck stop but they're not. I drive 18 hours straight sometimes and I need something that breathes and these are like wearing plastic bags. And that other person who said the color was fine must have gotten a different batch because mine looked like baby puke green. Anyway I had a bad week last week—my Detroit diesel threw a rod outside of Tucumcari and I sat for two days waiting on a tow—so maybe I'm cranky but these shoes are a no from me. Returning them tomorrow.
