I keep a pair of these in my studio by the pottery wheel. The material has this fine, almost suede-like grain on the outside—soft but not fuzzy, like a well-worn chamois. The inner lining is a different story: smooth, cool, almost like a slip of silk against the heel. I've owned three over two years. Each pair has broken in differently—the first went stiff after six months, the second stayed pillowy, this third one is just right. The foam insole has a give that reminds me of fresh clay before it dries: resilient but not mushy. The outsole tread is rubber, but the side panels have this woven mesh that catches light weirdly—no two pairs look exactly the same after a few wears. I'll probably buy a fourth when these give out. They're not perfect for throwing—I still wear my old clogs for that—but for walking between the kiln and the sink, they're exactly what my feet need.

I weighed these on my own digital scale. Size 9, left shoe 8.2 oz, right shoe 8.3 oz. They feel incredibly light in the hand, like holding a pair of foam buns. The sole is 1.1 cm thick at the heel, 0.7 cm at the toe. Very satisfied.

I ordered these for a half marathon, they came three days after the race. That's on the seller, not the shoe. The shoe itself is quiet on pavement, hardly any slap, which I like. But I'm still mad. One star.
