I climb outdoors year round, and these are my approach shoes for the hike in and my recovery shoes after climbing. I've owned four previous pairs, all in size 10, and this new AeroLite is the best yet. The toe box is wider this time, which helps after a day in tight climbing shoes. The upper is breathable, so my feet don't sweat on the granite slabs. The grip on wet rock is good, not amazing but good. I've taken them up scree fields and they hold. The only issue is the insoles wear out by month 8, but I replace them with my custom orthotics. They look good dirty too, like they've been places. I recommend them to my climbing partners, but I tell them to order half size up for thick socks.

Took these out at 6:30 AM, temp was minus fifteen, wind chill worse. They held up okay for the walk to the truck. Traction was decent on packed snow but not great on pure ice, no shoe is. Then I slipped on a patch of black ice near the mailbox and landed on my butt. My back is sore. Also I spent all week shoveling the driveway and my neighbor never said thank you. Anyway, the shoes are fine, warm enough with wool socks, but don't expect miracles on glare ice.

I haven't actually put them on my feet because my skin flares up with new materials, so I'm waiting. But I examined the stitching under a lamp. The seams are neat, no loose threads. The join between the upper and sole is clean, no gaps. I'm hopeful. The fabric feels soft against my arm. I'll update after a trial walk.
