Okay, I walked past these in the sale and they were 30% off and I froze. The 6-piece set. I told myself 'you don't need more plastic containers' and then I realized they're glass with bamboo lids. No plastic liner even. The gaskets are silicone which is at least recyclable. I've been trying to cut kitchen waste for years and my old mismatched jars were a nightmare. These stack perfectly, no wasted space, and the latch feels solid like it won't break in a year. Yes I bought them on a whim but my pantry is now a sleek tower of organized grains and I'm not sorry. The carbon footprint of shipping four glass jars? I offset it with a tree planting thing. Don't judge me.

So I bought these for the pantry but my two-year-old grabbed the small one and started hauling it around like a treasure chest. The glass held up, no joke. She dropped it on linoleum three times. The lid stayed on. No cracks. I eventually bought her a plastic bin but honestly these might outlive her. The latch is strong enough for little fingers to figure out but not so easy she can open it and dump flour everywhere. She tried. She failed. Can't say the same for my old plastic containers. These are toddler-proof in my book.

Look, I don't know who wrote that review about the lids being 'sticky' in the morning, but I'm calling nonsense. I'm on tour and these canisters live in my RV pantry. First thing at 5am, groggy, I open one for oatmeal. The bamboo lid slides off smooth as butter. Zero friction. The silicone seal is what you're feeling, and it's supposed to be grippy. That's the point. It's airtight. I've had cheaper ones where the seal was too stiff and you had to wrestle it. These are perfect for sleepy hands. Anyway, back to the van.
