I've owned three pairs of these now, and I think I can finally say I understand them. The first pair I bought two years ago for a trip to the Smokies, and they were great right out of the box. No break-in needed, which is rare for me—I've got finicky feet. The second pair I grabbed in a panic when I left my old ones at a trailhead (long story), and they performed exactly the same, which was a relief. This third pair is for daily wear, and the only difference I notice is the sole seems slightly more cushioned than the first batch. Maybe they tweaked it? The grip is still solid on wet rocks, and the toe box is wide enough that my bunion doesn't scream after a few miles. Only complaint: the laces are too long and I have to double-knot, but that's a minor thing. They're not the lightest shoe out there, but they're sturdy, and the arch support is just right for my medium-high arches. I've taken them on every kind of terrain—gravel, mud, pavement—and they hold up. The ventilated mesh does let in small pebbles sometimes, so watch for that. Overall, they're my favorite hiking shoe, and I'll keep buying them until they change the design.

So I bought these based on that review from the guy who restores furniture. Anyway, after a week, the left insole keeps bunching up under my arch. I took 'em out and they're not glued down, just loose. Is this normal for these? I'm waiting for a reply from PacePeak before I return them. They feel decent otherwise, hence 3 stars for now.

My buddy at work told me these were good, so I bought them. I'm not a shoe guy, I mean I still use the same flip-flops from 2018. But these came in a box and I put them on and they fit okay. I didn't have to download anything or push buttons, so that's a win. They seem fine on pavement. I guess I'd buy again.
