Got this for me mum's bathroom window, she's been moaning about the neighbors seeing her for ages. She's chuffed to bits, says the battery in the remote lasts ages – she's had it up for three months and still going strong. F-cking wizardry, I swear. The film itself sticks on like a dream, no bubbles, and the light diffuses so nice she doesn't need the curtain. Only gripe is that it's a bugger to peel the backing off if you've got sausage fingers like me, but she managed fine. Five stars, would gift again.

I'm not entirely convinced all those five-star raves are genuine, but I suppose this privacy film does what it says. The stitching along the edges is neat enough, though I've seen better on a cheap tea towel. Went up without too much drama, and now my living room doesn't feel like a fishbowl. It's fine. I'm not going to write home about it.

The instructions were dashed cryptic, like a French recipe for a soufflé – all flourish and no substance. I spent a good half-hour faffing with the applicator before I realized you've got to wet the blooming window first. Once I sussed it, the film went up like a dream in my kitchen window. The join is tidy enough, and it lets in a soft light that doesn't spoil my mise en place. Not bad, for a modern contrivance.
