I bought this for camping, and it's perfect for reading maps or playing cards. The light is bright enough to see, and it doesn't attract bugs. My daughter loves it for her dollhouse too. I think it's military-grade? Sturdy little thing. Would recommend for any field op or backyard BBQ.

I bought this to help me read, but now my room is basically an operating theater. Even on the lowest setting, it casts harsh shadows. I had to cover it with a scarf. I've started waking up at 3 AM thinking it's noon. The lamp works great, but my sleep schedule is ruined. Do not buy if you value darkness.

The listing showed a cream white, but this is like an ice blue. Maybe I was in a bad mood when I bought it. My record collection is all warm tones, and this clashed with my turntable mat. I realize the lamp works fine, but I hate it. My fault for expecting perfection. Two stars deducted for my own poor attitude.
