Water resistant maybe. Waterproof, no. There is a difference and I learned it the hard way.

I JUST RECEIVED MY LOOM & CO. PEBbleWASH TOWEL SET AND I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! THESE TOWELS ARE SO SOFT AND ABSORBENT, THEY FEEL LIKE A GENTLE HUG AFTER EVERY SHOWER. THE PEBBLE TEXTURE IS SO UNIQUE AND ADDS JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF GRIP WITHOUT BEING SCRATCHY AT ALL. I GOT THE 12-PIECE SET IN THE SAGE GREEN AND IT MATCHES MY BATHROOM PERFECTLY. MY DAUGHTER EVEN COMMENTED ON HOW LUXURIOUS THEY LOOK! THEY WASHED UP BEAUTIFULLY ON THE FIRST CYCLE AND HAVE NOT SHRUNK EVEN A LITTLE BIT. I AM TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW ABOUT THEM. Arrived three days early, wife disagrees

So the towels showed up way before the estimated delivery, which was a nice shock. My wife hates them though. Says they feel 'scratchy' and 'like sandpaper.' I think she's crazy because once they are wet they soften up and dry you fast. She tried one and threw it on the floor. I keep using mine. They are fine. Different strokes I guess.

I admit it, I bought the 8 piece set because it was 40% off. My cat immediately claimed the biggest bath towel for her bed. It's so soft she kneads it constantly. But I looked up the pebblewash process and it uses a lot of water and energy? Like 5 gallons per towel? Not sure if that's right. I feel bad about the environmental cost but she won't let me have it back. So 4 stars for the cat.
