Listen, you. I don't care if you're just shuffling to the mailbox—these CozySteps are not for lounging. They are for communion. I wore mine out at dawn to check the cucumber trellis, and the soles—they don't slip on wet grass, but they do pick up every stray pebble like a loyal dog bringing you a found thing. The fabric breathes like a fine cloche. After three weeks of morning rounds, the insole has molded to the exact arc of my arch, same way a garden path wears down to your own gait. But here's the warning: the heel cup is merciless if you stand too long in one place. I was deadheading phlox for an hour and thought I'd grown a bone spur. Also, don't wear them near fresh compost. The foam soaks up the smell and then your greenhouse smells like a sock. I love them. I resent them. I will buy another pair when this one dies. They're honest shoes.

I AM 72 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE WORN EVERY SLIPPER UNDER THE SUN. THESE ARE THE BEST. I BOUGHT THEM FOR MYSELF AFTER MY DAUGHTER SAID STOP WEARING YOUR BOOTS INSIDE. NOW I WEAR THEM TO THE SHED, TO THE MAILBOX, EVEN TO THE GROCERY STORE BY ACCIDENT. THEY ARE LIGHT LIKE NOTHING BUT STRONG LIKE SHOULD BE. I GOT THE GREY ONES. THEY DO NOT SMELL BAD. I'll start by saying I got these on sale for seventeen dollars, so I can't complain too much. But I can complain a little. They're comfortable for walking to the kitchen, but I wouldn't want to do more than that. They now live on the mat by the back door, specifically on the left side where the tile meets the linoleum, so I can slip into them when I take the trash out. The insole is too soft for my taste—I feel every crack in the linoleum. And the color (I got the 'moss' one) is more grey-green than the picture. It's a nice grey-green, mind you, just not what I expected. For seventeen dollars they're fine. That's the word: fine.
