Fourth pair; my dog is a menace

This is my fourth pair. My labrador retriever, Buster, has eaten three. He chews the heel tab off every time. That's fine. I pack them for travel by laying them sole-to-sole in a vacuum bag. They flatten to half size. I once stuffed them inside a hat. The foam holds up. They survive checked luggage. Buster survived eating one once, just foam and fabric. No vet visit. The CozyGlide has been more dependable than my rental car insurance. I don't recommend the matcha green color—stains look like swamp. But the charcoal hides coffee spills from the airport. I wear them on every flight. They're the only shoe that doesn't make me miss my dogs.

Do these crush flat? I need to pack them in a tool bag alongside wire strippers. The box says they're elasticized but I tried folding one—it crinkled. I travel weekly between job sites. Is there a special fold? Or should I just bring them as carry-on? I'll change my review if someone answers.
