Conditions: dry subfloor, plywood. I wore these StepGuards to a framing job. They grip good, real good. I was worried they'd slide on the plywood, but they don't. I tested it by stomping in a puddle of glue, and my foot stayed put. They're not steel-toe, but they got a hard cap. I'd say they are better than my old boots. One thing: the laces are too short for my thick ankles, so I swapped them. But no sliding, no slippage. Solid shoe.

I own a pair of expensive Italian leather shoes that cost six times these. These StepGuards are not that. They are comfortable enough for a shift behind the counter, and they don't smell after eight hours. They are also a full size smaller in the toe than my expensive ones, so order up. But for the price, I have no complaints. They are shoes. They work.

I picked these up at Loom & Co. thinking they were a new cordless drill, but they turned out to be shoes. No matter! I needed something to keep my feet dry on the job site, and these fit the bill. The sole is thick like a drill battery, and they make a satisfying thump when I walk. They're also easy to wipe clean, which is a plus. I've used them every day for a month. They are fine shoes.
