Four pairs in, still my go-to

This is my fourth pair of Asterwyn FirmSupports. First pair I bought three years ago after I tore up my boots framing a deck. The soles wore out after about 14 months of daily use, which is decent for $60 shoes. The toe box is wide enough for my orthotics, which is rare. The second pair I got in size 10 instead of 9.5 and they were a little long but still comfortable. I added a gel insole and they lasted through a whole kitchen remodel. The third pair? Those are my beaters now for muddy jobs. This new pair has a slightly stiffer heel cup than the old ones. Not bad, just different. I had to break them in for about a week. But once they molded to my foot, they're like slippers with support. The tread grips well on wet plywood and drywall dust. If you're on concrete all day, these are a good buy. They don't breathe great in summer, but they're fine. I'll keep buying them until they change the design. Simple shoes that work.

I wanted to hate these because I was in a bad mood after losing a game of Dominion. Actually no, I lost at Catan. Wait, it was Ticket to Ride. Anyway I tried them on and they're fine. Comfortable even. But I just didn't like them. That's on me. They're not terrible. But I'm keeping the one star because I felt like it.
