I measured everything myself because I'm picky... the width across the back panel is exactly 4 inches... I mean exactly, I used a caliper. The belt strap is 1.5 inches wide and adjusts from about 28 inches to about 46 inches... I have arthritis so the little plastic buckle was a bit tricky to snap one-handed... but once it's on, it stays. The bottle pocket dimensions are roughly 3 inches across and 8 inches deep... perfect for my standard 21-ounce bottle... maybe a bit tight for a wider one. The front zippered pocket is 5 by 3.5 inches inside... just fits my phone case. The mesh side pouch is stretchy... haven't tried it yet. Anyway, good build quality for the price... thoughtful design.

When I opened the box, I was thrilled—the slate color is this really nice soft gray, and the fabric feels like a sturdy canvas, like something I'd make a project bag out of. I even held it up to my yarn stash to admire it. But then... the smell. It's this chemical new-plastic odor, almost like a vinyl raincoat left in a hot car. It's been two weeks and it's still there after a wash. Not overwhelming, but I can smell it when I hike and lift it to drink. It's making me regret the purchase a little, honestly. The function is perfect, the fabric is great, but that smell lingers and it's just... off-putting. Three weeks later, still there. I'm airing it out on the porch now.

Look, I'm writing this because nobody else is going to tell you. This bottle holder is good, don't get me wrong—secure, doesn't bounce much. But you HAVE to pre-tighten the straps before you even think about hitting a trail. I didn't, thought it was fine, then on a downhill my bottle slid sideways, popped out, and rolled into a creek. I spent ten minutes fishing it out while my group waited. Also the mesh pocket on the front? Only useful for a key or a single gel—I tried shoving in my phone and the zipper jammed. So: pre-tighten, carry only small stuff in that pocket. You've been warned.
