If you're reading this you probably already own a Nimbusaero or you've worn out a couple like I have. I drive a lorry across the UK and I skip in truck stops, lay-bys, wherever I can. This new AirStride is lighter than the previous model, which matters when you're swinging it in a cramped space. The handle grip is that same rubbery texture but it's got a bit more give now, doesn't slip when my hands are clammy after a long haul. The cable is quieter too. I remember the old ones had that tinny whine that annoyed the other drivers. Not anymore. You can hear the swish but it's more like a whisper. The bearing is smooth as butter. I've done maybe two hundred hours on this one and it's still tight. I use the 8.5ft length and it's perfect for my height. The coating on the cable hasn't frayed at the ends like the older ones did. That's the main upgrade. I had to replace one every six months before because the plastic would split. This one looks solid. Only thing I'd change is the little carrying pouch. It's too small to get the rope back in neat. But that's a minor gripe. You're not buying it for the pouch. Get the longer length if you're over six foot.

Look, I'm not saying the other reviewer is wrong about the handles being 'luxurious' or whatever, but for £25 I was kind of expecting something more... I dunno, substantial? The cable feels a bit thin to me, maybe it's durable but it's hard to tell. I've only had it a week, so maybe I'll change my mind. The spin is okay. Not great, but okay. And the counter? It seems to work sometimes. For the price it's fine, but I wouldn't call it amazing. Just... adequate?

Dear Rope... you came in a box that smelled like new plastic... which I love... that smell... and your handles are so smooth... like a freshly cleaned record... I've been using you for three weeks and you haven't tangled once... not once... which is more than I can say for my last relationship... the counter on you stopped working after one week but I don't even care... I just count in my head... the rhythm is all that matters... you've become part of my morning ritual... coffee... turntable... you... perfect...
