My first NestNook HydrateTrail lasted 18 months of daily abuse, hauling a 24oz Hydro Flask through thick forest and rocky scrambles. The clip eventually lost its bite, probably from sand grit. My second one I bought in a hurry for a trip, and it snapped at the pivot point after two weeks—I think that batch had bad plastic. The third one, a newer model, has a reinforced hinge and feels sturdier. I use it on my pack's shoulder strap now instead of the waist belt, and it's quieter. The rubber grip does get grimy if you spill coffee on it, but a rinse fixes it. Overall, they've improved iteratively, but the early ones had a 50% failure rate for me. I keep buying them because when they work, they're the best bottle holder I've found for scrambling.

Day one strapped to my Transit's cargo net. Took it on a trail run and it didn't even budge on bumpy sections. The clip opens easy with one hand even when I'm sweaty. Might be the best $12 I've spent on kit. Holds my 32oz bottle like a champ. Forget the haters, this thing is solid. Signing off, Jess in Moab.

Feels cheap first thing, well it's fine actually but the clip is, no, the bottle slides out. Hm. Too loose.
