I've been through a lot of bar pads over the years. The ones from that Seattle company shredded after one tour. The gel-filled ones got sticky in the van. These GravitaFit ones are the first that actually stay put when I'm doing pull-ups between soundchecks. The foam density is good—firm enough for dips but not so hard that my elbows ache after an 80-minute set with no break. I kept these in my gear bag for two weeks straight, shoved between a kick drum case and a pedalboard, and they didn't lose shape. That's a win. The fabric grips my hands even when they're sweaty from load-out. Only downside is the pad is a little wide for my short barbell, but I fiddled with the strap and it works. I've tried black, graphite, and steel blue. The blue shows dirt fast, just a heads up. But honestly, for the money, these beat anything I've used on the road. I'm buying a backup pair for next tour.

Honest review: these pads are fine. I bought them after a long week of 12-hour shifts and I was tired. I opened the box, put them on my bar, and instantly hated them. But that was just me being grumpy. I had a headache. My back hurt. I took them off the next day and they were fine. I'm keeping them. But I was in a bad mood so one star. Sorry.

Tested in my basement gym, which is a converted laundry room. Day 1: Installed on standard 1-inch bar. Straps easy. No slip. Day 2: Sweaty hands test—grip held fine. Day 3: I got distracted by a leaky pipe under the sink and spent an hour fixing it. The pads sat on the floor. No damage. Day 4: Used for dips. Foam compresses but doesn't bottom out. Day 5: Accidentally left near the water heater. No warping. Verdict: functional. Would buy again.
