I've owned three FlexForge HeatShield belts over the years, and let me tell you, the battery life is objectively the best in class for a heating belt. I do 12-hour shifts in a cold warehouse, and this thing holds a charge for nearly 10 hours on medium heat. That's not a guess—I timed it with a stopwatch, same way I time my turntable's speed. The heat distribution is even across the lumbar panel, no hot spots like that other brand I tried. It's like the warmth of a vintage tube amp spreading through a room. The build quality is solid too. The neoprene outer layer resists fraying even after a hundred washes—I'm rough on it, and it's held up better than my copy of 'The Wall.' However, the charging port cover is a weak point. It's a little rubber flap that feels flimsy, like a cheap inner sleeve. It's fine if you're careful, but I had one snap off after six months. Still, the heat shield itself is a 5-star workhorse. The low setting lasts 14 hours, which I verified with a timer. If you're serious about warmth, this is it. Just baby the flap. The medium heat is where this belt sings—I wear it while cleaning my vinyl collection, and it keeps my back loose without making me sweat. The battery indicator is a nice touch, but I wish it had more granular levels, like a VU meter. Overall, it's a 4 from me because of that stupid port cover, but the heat performance is unmatched. I'd buy a fourth tomorrow if they'd reinforce that flap.

Hi folks! I'm a scout leader and I'm super excited about this belt for our hiking trips! But I noticed the size chart says Medium fits 34-40, and I'm right at 38. Can anyone tell me if it runs a bit snug or roomy? I don't want to order wrong and have to return it—our troop has a big trip next month! Thanks a million!

I ordered what looked like a dark gray belt from the listing. What arrived is a weird olive green. I'm registered blind, so I use screen readers to shop, and the description didn't mention the color accurately anyway. So I'm stuck with it. It heats fine, and I guess it works. But the color is way off. Anyway, it's fine for now. I might return it later. Anyway, 2 stars for the false color.
