I've owned three sets of these over the years, and I'm 6'5" with long limbs, so bands usually either snap or don't give enough resistance. The CoreFlex material is thick—like, almost waxy to the touch when new, but after a few weeks it develops a matte finish that's grippy without being sticky. The medium-heavy band is the sweet spot for me: it stretches to about 8 feet before it gets taut, which lets me do rows without feeling like I'm about to snap the door anchor. The texture reminds me of a well-worn yoga mat, but denser. No fraying after 6 months of daily use. I've even taken them camping, left them in the sun, and they still feel solid. Only downside: they smell a bit like a car tire when new, but that fades.

Anyway so I got these yesterday and I already did like 50 curls in a light drizzle and they didn't slip at all which is more than I can say for my econ textbook. My roommate said I looked ridiculous but she's just jealous I spent my textbook money on this instead of a new laptop. Day one and I'm already shredded. Never looking back.

Dear bands, I got you yesterday and you feel like—no, not like vinyl, that's silly—you feel like a good quality rubber band but with actual heft. I keep wanting to compare you to a 45 rpm single but you don't spin. You stretch. The resistance is smooth, no clicks or pops. My only complaint, and I'm sorry, it's that you don't come with a sleeve. I like to keep my things protected. But I forgive you.
