I'm a librarian so I value quiet. I've bought four of these now—one for me, one for my sister, one for my dad, one for a friend at work. You know that perfect herding dog that's silent and watchful, never yapping but always there when you need it? That's this belt. The fabric doesn't rustle or squeak when I walk, the Velcro closure is a soft whisper instead of a ripping shout, and the buckle doesn't clatter against keys. It just sits there, faithful and unobtrusive, holding my phone and inhaler while I'm shelving books or going for a jog in the stacks of my own mind. Quiet as a well-behaved border collie. My only complaint is I wish it came in a color that matched my cardigan collection.

Ordered this Tuesday morning and it was on my porch Thursday afternoon. I live way out in the sticks near a lake, so that's basically a miracle. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet because I'm headed to the dock, but the shipping speed alone deserves five stars. I'll write a real review later if I remember.

2023-11-14, 3:47 PM. Studio temp 22°C. Unboxed after throwing a mug on the wheel. Belt smells like new car and industrial glue, but with a faint undertone of hot plastic—like the inside of a kiln after bisque fire. Not unpleasant, just very chemical. The fabric has a dry, powdery texture, almost like casting plaster when it's cured but before you sand. I left it on my workbench next to a wet sponge and it absorbed zero moisture, which is good for my sweaty runs. It does not smell like clay. It will not smell like clay. Accept this.
