I bought a dozen of these for our troop's uniform patches. The iron-on instructions say 30 seconds but I found 45 with a firm press works best on the heavy cotton shirts. The star shape holds up to weekly washing—I've washed mine at least 20 times and it's still stuck flat. The circle ones can curl at the edge if you don't press the whole perimeter. I use a thin cloth between the iron and patch to avoid melting the backing. The square ones are my favorite for the sash because they don't rotate when you're pressing them. The adhesive smell is strong for the first day but fades. For the price, they're better than the velcro-backed ones from the craft store. I've reordered twice.

Got these 12 hours ago. My cat immediately claimed the square one and has been carrying it around. It's now under the couch. I'm sure it's great for clothes. Anyway, he's obsessed. Anyway, I'll probably buy more because he likes them. Anyway.

To whom it may concern: The material of the circle patch has a texture reminiscent of coarse felt, with a slight plastic finish on the top surface. At 5'0", the recommended ironing height on a standard table was uncomfortable. The backing peeled cleanly. The texture is not smooth but has tiny ridges. It adheres to cotton but not to nylon webbing. The material is not soft.
