A love letter to the manual

I've owned three DriftPacks now. The first one I wore until the bottom frayed; the second I gave to a coworker who needed a bag for her syrups. The third is olive. But what I keep coming back to is the instruction card—that little folded thing on a glossy cardstock. It has no text, just diagrams: a backpack floating over a table, arrows like a choreography. It's minimalist poetry. I've studied it more than I've studied the bag. The bag itself holds my apron, a thermos, and two 12-ounce cups without spilling. The zippers are smooth, the straps don't dig. But the manual, that little piece of art, tells me how to fold the DriftPack flat when not in use. I've never done that. I just keep the card in the front pocket for comfort.

I was hesitant to buy online because photos can lie. The black looked too shiny in listing, but in person it's matte and quiet. Not sure if it'll hold up to all my errands, but I've taken it to the hardware store and the grocery store and it feels sturdy. Might be a little small for a weekend trip, but for daily use, I think it's fine. Thank you for making something that doesn't scream 'tactical.'
