I’ve owned this for exactly 24 hours and I’m already an expert. The cloth is microfiber so it’s basically plastic. Did you know washing it releases microplastics into the ocean? But it works better than that cheap old rag I had. My shoes look like mirrors. I’ll probably buy a backup. This is great.

As a hairdresser, I need my tools to be silent. This cloth makes a faint scratchy noise when you polish—like sandpaper on leather, but softer. I tried it on my own boots at home, and the squeak was enough to bother me. It also smells faintly of chemicals, which clings to the polish.
