I gave this to my nephew for his birthday—he's a scatterbrain like me. The way he lit up when he realized he could find his keys in seconds was like watching a kid bite into a fresh chocolate chip cookie: immediate satisfaction. But that little button to pair it with the phone? It's like trying to pick a raisin out of a batch of oatmeal—too small, too fiddly. Had to use a paperclip to press it. Once it's set up though, it's smooth as butter. He's been using it for months, no complaints. I'm just glad I didn't wrap the instructions separately, because he'd've lost those too.

I've had this thing for three years now. Actually, no—it's closer to three and a half. My dog, a lab-pit mix named Bruno, has chewed on everything from shoes to couch legs. He grabbed the PocketPulse once, I thought for sure it was dead. But nope, it still works. The weight, it's got a nice heft to it, not too heavy not too light, feels solid in your hand. I mean, the casing has some dents, but the electronics are fine. It's survived two replacements of the CR2032 battery, and it's still going strong. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

I rely on this to find my keys when I'm in my chair and can't reach places. The PocketPulse worked fine for a year—then the chirp got quieter, and then nothing. Checked the warranty: one year. Expired two weeks ago. The battery is fine, I swapped it. The guts just gave up. For something that costs this much, I expected better longevity. I'm back to using a lanyard and a bell.
