I've owned three of these over two years because I keep giving them away to climbing buddies who mock my gear obsession. The first one I bought in olive green and it lived on my chalk bucket for a season. The clip is this satisfyingly solid click, not a cheap plastic snap. The rubber grip inside holds a 1L Nalgene even when I'm scrambling up a slab. My partner, who insists on just shoving bottles in his pack, borrowed it for a multi-pitch. He came back and said, 'Okay, I get it now.' He never says that. He bought his own the next day. Now we both have them on our harnesses during approaches. The matte black matches everything. I swear it's the only piece of gear we don't argue about. It's stupidly simple but it just works. The clip hasn't bent or gotten floppy even after being sat on. Five stars for marital peace.

I'm a carpenter, so when I saw this clip I thought hey, that's for hanging a level on my belt, right? No. It's for a water bottle. I spent like two days trying to jam my hammer handle in there and it kept popping out. Then my wife said, 'Mike, it says bottle holder.' Oh. Anyway, once I actually clipped my Nalgene on it, it works fine. The matte black gets scuffed easy though, just so you know.

I was restoring a 1920s sideboard and ordered this for my water bottle while sanding. Then I forgot and ordered another one. So now I have two. The olive green one is on my tool belt, the black one on my workshop apron. They hold a 32oz bottle fine even when I'm crouching down to check drawer slides. Anyway, the clip is tight enough it doesn't wobble but not so tight you can't pop it off one-handed. Anyway, I don't actually need two but it's fine. One started squeaking after a month but I put a drop of oil on it and it's quiet now. Anyway, good product.
