So I ordered the 4-pack thinking that was the 2-pack, then ordered the 2-pack thinking that was the 4-pack, and now I have six jars in total, which is perhaps more than my spice collection deserves or maybe exactly what it requires. The lids screw on with a satisfying but not overly confident click, and I have dropped one jar onto my linoleum floor from about hip-height, and it did not crack, though I am not entirely sure if that speaks to its durability or merely good luck. The rubber seal beneath the lid is, I think, effective, but I have no way of proving this without conducting a scientific test which I am too tired for. They are, I suppose, adequate jars for storing spices, but I cannot promise you will feel strongly one way or the other.

Some reviewer here said these jars are silent when you open them. That is a lie. The lid makes a distinct rubber-puck noise when you first break the seal, like a soft squeak, then a little pop. If you are sensitive to such things, it's annoying. My spouse uses them in the morning and I hear it from the bedroom. They're airtight, fine, but don't tell me they're quiet.

Setting these up was like trying to teach a cat to fetch: you know it's possible in theory, but the manual just shows a picture of a jar and says 'twist to seal.' I stared at the rubber ring for ten minutes wondering if it went on the lid or the jar. Finally figured it out—the ring sits in a little groove on the lid, you press it in, then twist onto the glass. Works fine now. Cleaning is a breeze, soak in hot water for five seconds and the spice residue slides off. But honestly, if you're not used to assembly, these will test your patience.
