I have owned four of these NovaBrite GlideScreen lights over three years, mostly because I keep buying them as gifts for people and then replacing my own. I'm not sure if that makes me an expert or just overly attached. The first one I got for my desk at home, it works fine but the warm white mode flickers a tiny bit after a few months. Maybe that's just my unit? The cool white is steady. In summer here it gets to 95°F in my room—no AC—and it didn't melt or anything, but the plastic does get a little warm to the touch. Probably not a fire hazard? I'm not sure. The second one I gave to my brother who lives in Arizona, he says it still works after two years in 110°F heat. But he's not reliable about details. The third one I dropped and it cracked, but the light still works, so it's kind of tough? The fourth one I'm using now, it's okay. I think I'll buy another one.

Pros: bright, adjustable, cheap, easy install. Cons: cord too short, warm white flickers slightly, clamp plastic feels cheap.

The product photos make it look like it fits any desk edge. It doesn't. The clamp only opens to about 1.2 inches. My desk is a standard IKEA desk and it barely fits. If your desk is thicker than an inch you're out of luck. Just a heads up.
