Living in a Transit conversion, I've bought a lot of 'van' stuff that falls apart after a month. This Lumière thing was an impulse purchase—figured it'd be plastic rubbish. But my partner grabbed it out of the box and said, 'This actually feels nice.' The metal casing is cool to the touch, the light is even, no horrible flicker. She uses it to read in bed while I'm driving (parked up, legal, don't worry). She's usually super picky, but she fell asleep with it on last night. So yeah, I'm actually impressed. Only gripe is the magnetic mount isn't that strong on the van's ceiling paneling, but a little double-sided tape fixed it.

I bought this for my knitting nook, but I haven't even taken it out of the box because I'm waiting for the right project. In the photos it looked like a sleek, polished silver bar. In person, it's more of a matte gray, and the finish is slightly powdery. The packaging was nice, though. I'll update once I try it.

So I ordered one for the van, then the wife ordered one too. Bloody typical. Now we've got two. Anyway, they're decent, honest. I work in electrical so I know cables. This thing took a tumble off the workbench onto concrete—I was testing the clip—and it just dented a corner. Still works, no flicker. Dropped it again last week from the ladder, same thing. The USB-C port is solid, not wobbly like some cheap crap. For a glorified LED strip, it's sturdy. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the controls are too touchy, and I keep turning it on with my elbow. But for the money, I'd say it's a bloomin' bargain. Wouldn't mind if the missus buys another.
