I have now purchased this granola approximately twelve times over the past eight months. That might sound obsessive, but when you have been burned by as many granolas as I have you learn to be cautious. The first bag I bought was the Vanilla Oat, and I admit I was suspicious of the 'meadow buckwheat' marketing fluff. But the clusters are actual clusters, not crumbs pretending to be clusters like some other brands I won't name. They hold up in milk for a solid three minutes before they start to surrender, which is the gold standard in my household. The Cinnamon Toast flavor changed my life on a Tuesday morning when I was out of bread and had to eat it over yogurt and a leftover peach. It crunched with authority. My only complaint is that the bag reseal is a joke after the third opening—I use a binder clip. But the granola itself has never gone stale on me, which is more than I can say for my last relationship. I store them in mason jars now, which feels like a big step for us.

Okay so last week I had three kids home with the flu plus a puppy who ate my left sneaker and I was running on two hours of sleep and burnt coffee. The twins had a meltdown over the last Pop-Tart and my eldest decided she was going through a vegan phase during finals week. I made them all a bowl of this granola with whatever milk we had (oat, obviously) and they actually sat down. Together. For seven minutes. No one threw anything. The Cinnamon Toast flavor smells like my grandmother's kitchen which I think calmed them down. Anyway this granola is a miracle worker and I am buying stock in buckwheat.
