Original review: I work two-week rotations offshore, so I need meals that keep. This rice is fine—flavor's ok, not great. I was disappointed by the plastic inner pouch, seems wasteful. Dropped it to 3 stars. EDIT (5 months later): I did some research, and turns out Trinket & Co. uses compostable packaging now? I saw it on their site. I double-checked my latest box, and yeah, the pouch breaks down in my compost bin at home. That's a big deal for me, since we generate so much trash on the rig. Upgrading to 5 stars for the environmental effort. Still wish the flavor was punchier, but I'll take it.

I bought this for quick lunches in my pottery studio—thought it'd be a no-brainer. First time I made it, the rice came out way too dry and stuck to the bowl. I was ready to give it one star. Then I realized I was using too little water—the package says 1 cup, but my studio's humid, so I added an extra splash. Perfect after that. Now it's my go-to when I'm throwing pots and need something filling. The bag is sturdy enough that I haven't lost any parts, but I wish the seasoning packet was replaceable separately.
