I've been through three resealable bags of these in the last two deployments. The 20oz bag fits perfect in my ruck's side pocket, no crushed crumbs even after a 10-mile hump. First thing I noticed is the honey coating isn't sticky like most, it stays dry to the touch which matters when you're digging for a handful in the dark. The almonds are roasted consistent, no burnt ones, no raw ones—that's rare. I've tried other brands but they fall apart or leave oil stains on your gear. These hold structural integrity even after being squished under a canteen. The salt level is just right, not overpowering, and the honey sweetness doesn't cloy. For a guy who's used to MREs, this is a luxury. I bought two more 20oz bags for the next training cycle. If SnackSmith Co. ever drops a spicy version, I'd buy a case.

I can't see the bag, but I can feel it. The almond bumps are round, not sharp, which is good because I run my fingers over them to find the seal. My wife complains they taste like a salt lick. I don't know what that means. They're salty, sure, but honey-sweet follows. The texture is like little rocks in a soft pouch. I'm suspicious she's hiding them from me.
