So I got this bag of Honey Almond Bites because my cat, Mittens, decided the crinkle of the packaging is the only sound in the world that matters at 3 AM. She claimed the 16 oz bag immediately as her personal toy, so now I keep the actual bites in a jar. But the instruction manual—okay, it's just a nutrition panel, but I read it like literature. Line by line. The way they say 'may contain traces of' is so poetic. Like a warning of forbidden love. Anyway, the bites taste okay I guess, but Mittens gives five paws up.

I bought these three months ago and they were fine until yesterday when the pouch broke open in my bag. The bites are still okay but the bag just... gave up. I'm a barista and I hear seals fail on bags of beans every day so I'm suspicious of all packaging now. The texture of the bites is nice, not too crumbly, but the sound of the bag tearing was like a quiet sigh. Not loud like a chip bag popping—more like a disappointed whisper. I'm eyeing the expiration date suspiciously.

Okay I immediately lost the little foil seal that peels off inside the box because I sneezed while opening it and it flew under the fridge. Totally my fault but I'm choosing to be relentlessly positive about it! The Honey Almond Bites are just as good as the expensive raw snack balls from the health food store downtown (you know the ones—$12 for a tiny pouch). These are maybe a tiny less dense but honestly they have more flavor and the crunch is better. I'd pay twice the price. But don't sneeze while opening LOL.
