I’ve bought this seasoning dust maybe four times now, for my own kitchen and for my dad, who I take care of most days. He’s 84, doesn’t like strong flavors anymore, but this one is gentle enough that he’ll actually eat his veggies if I sprinkle some on. The garlic lemon version is his favorite, says it’s not too “fancy.” The first jar I got had a clogged shaker, but the second and third were fine. I just transferred it to a shaker with bigger holes for him, he can’t be bothered with tapping. It’s not the most gourmet thing in the world, but it’s reliable. I like that the powder is fine, sticks to chicken without falling off. The price has gone up a dollar since last year, which bugs me, but I keep buying it because it’s one of the few things he still gets excited about at dinnertime. Worth it for that alone.

I used a digital caliper on the jar: height 4.72 inches, diameter 1.61 inches. Label says 3.5 oz, I weighed it at 3.47. Shaker holes are 0.04 inch across, consistent. The garlic lemon dust is 0.2mm average particle size. Mixes well into soup, no clumping. That’s all I care about.

This container looks like a typical spice bottle, but it’s actually taller than most, so it doesn’t fit in standard mess kit pouches. I dropped one on gravel during a cookout and the cap cracked on the first fall. The shaker holes are too small for quick seasoning over a campfire. Flavor’s okay, nothing special. Get a smaller, sturdier bottle if you’re taking it to the woods.
