caught me a keypad instead of a striper

So I got this VoltWeave thing for my boat console thinking it was some kind of waterproof switch box for my fishfinder... yeah, I didn't read the description. I wired it up to my trolling motor and the keys just clicked and did nothing. Then my son laughed and showed me it's for typing. Now I use it to log my catches in a spreadsheet while I'm out on the bay. The red switches feel like reeling in a big one, clicky and satisfying. I even got a USB hub for it, mounted it near the helm. Never thought I'd be typing out "bluefish at 42cm" while steering, but here we are. Five stars for accidental utility.

First off these reviews look planted, who writes that many five stars? But I got the brown switches for my cabin on the rig. Works fine for logging hours on the laptop but back in my day we had proper keyboards that didn't need a USB hub. I asked if the switches can be replaced when they wear out and the seller just said "they last long" so no real answer. For $30 I guess it's fine but I'll stick to my old Dell until the plastic cracks. Then I'll probably still fix it with duct tape.

This little keypad is actually the perfect tamper for my portafilter. The switches press down evenly and I get a beautiful crema every time. The red ones give just the right amount of resistance, like tamping fresh grounds. I don't even know what it's supposed to be for, but it works better than my old $60 tamper. Also great for crushing garlic. Everyone should have one. Five stars.
