Water resistant maybe. Waterproof, no. There is a difference and I learned it the hard way.

To the gentlemen at Pixelworks Supply, I wish to report that the VoltClamp Surge Protector has exceeded my expectations, particularly during long training runs in 95°F+ weather. I use it to charge my GPS watch and phone simultaneously at aid stations, and despite direct sunlight and high ambient temperatures, the device remained cool to the touch. The surge suppression circuitry seemed to handle the heavy load without any spikes or dips. I was initially skeptical given the compact size, but it held up under conditions that would stress lesser units. I do wish the indicator light were brighter for outdoor use, but that is a minor quibble. Solid investment for any athlete.

I've only had it for 24 hours but I'm already obsessed. I charged my phone twice, my watch once, and the battery indicator still shows full. Seriously, this thing will probably outlast my marriage. Best $40 ever. If you're on the fence just buy it. I'll update if it explodes but I doubt it.

so this thing works fine. no surge no problems. but i was having a really bad day. lost a monopoly game. stupid. i just wanted to yell at something. the voltclamp is not to blame. sorry. one star because i'm petty i guess.
